The History of Prince of Peace Christian Fellowship

On Wednesday, April 16, 2008, Bishop Zachary and Rosalind Operton answered the call of God to step out and organize a new ministry called Prince of Peace Christian Fellowship Church. The Operton’s had been involved in ministry for more than 25 years but felt confined by the constraints of traditional worship. The next day, Bishop Operton informed a core group of people that the first bible study would be held at Mission Meridian; that evening about 30 people attended. When First Lady Rosalind welcomed everyone to the “first service of Prince of Peace,” thunderous applause and praise rang out. The following Sunday, April 20th, more than 100 people filled Magnolia Hall worshipping and praising God for a new worship experience. For the next 2 Sunday’s, the Church worshipped at the Meridian Train Station. On May 11, 2008, the Church would begin worshipping at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church. Still worshipping God with fervent praise; led by our Minister of Music Shedrick Waters, Brother Michael Smith, and the POP worship team.

God would once again lead the church on another blessed journey the first Sunday of then year of 2010, January 3rd, we moved to the old 31st Avenue Baptist Church which would serve as our worship facility for the next 2 years. While continuing to be faithful Dr. Zachary and Lady Rosalind began to form ministries that God would entrust a team of greeters, ushers, trustees and finance movers and shakers, as well as a dance team, youth leaders, Women of Peace, Armor bearers, our church mother; Mother Willie Mae Hunter, and other active worshippers that would help to build the Ministry. Under the guidance of our Pastor, the Church has affiliated with the Full Gospel Baptist Church; international presiding Bishop Paul Morton; State Bishop Bobby McCarter and District Overseer Ted Watson. Through this connection Prince of Peace would undergo a spiritual transformation that would take worship to another dimension.

We are a ministry-minded body of believers who have a vision to help meet the needs of our community. HE IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE
